FAQs

What is Sprout Ticket Insurance?

Sprout Ticket Insurance entitles you to a credit note valid for three months should you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to your scheduled event.

Sprout Ticket Insurance can be added to your cart at the checkout.

Sprout Ticket Insurance is calculated as a percentage of your total purchase. If you would like to purchase Sprout Ticket Insurance for one ticket but not another please make multiple purchases at the checkout.

When will you release more classes/can you add me to your waiting list?

Because we love to cook with the seasons, we release new classes every 3 months. As a general guide you can expect to receive our cooking class newsletter in early February, May, August and November. Until then, we are unable to advise you of new class dates. We run most of our classes each season, so if your favourite Sprout class does not currently appear on our cooking classes page, then it may be scheduled for next season's class release.

If a scheduled class is sold out, please feel free to email us (including your name, phone number & number of tickets) and we will add you to the waiting list. If we have any cancellations, we will let you know!

Sorry, we do not keep waiting lists for yet-to-be-released classes. Please join our mailing list to be notified when new classes are announced!

Do Sprout classes cater for all dietary requirements and cooking abilities?

Absolutely.

Dietaries

While we do occasionally run classes focused on specific dietary requirements – such as Low FODMAP, Vegetarian or Gluten Free – you are welcome to come along to any of our classes even if you have special dietary requirements. Just let us know what you need in the ‘dietary requirements’ box when booking and we will make sure that each recipe is suitable for you to cook and enjoy. And we always have a trained professional on hand to answer any questions you might have on the day.

We cater for all dietary requirements at our private, corporate and catering events, too.

Cooking Skills/Abilities

We have people of all ages and all cooking abilities join our classes - from those who can’t boil water, to those who would give the best chefs in town a run for their money.

Everyone who comes along learns something new – a new technique, a new flavour, or a new perspective on cooking, food, health or nutrition. Even if you’ve never picked up a pot or a pan in your life, when you leave our class you will know how to cook a handful of dishes from start to finish. That’s what Sprout is all about.

I just booked a class but I'm not 100% sure it worked?

When you book a Sprout class, you will receive a confirmation email from us in your inbox within a few minutes. You will also receive a tax receipt in a separate email (unless redeeming a gift voucher). Check your spam/junk folder and if it's not there, email [email protected]. If you're unsure, please don't leave it until the last minute to check your booking as you may miss out on your preferred class.

How do I purchase/redeem a gift voucher?

Easy - visit our gift vouchers page and complete the order form. You will receive payment confirmation immediately; your gift voucher will be sent to you electronically within 10mins. Without excluding your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we do not offer refunds on gift voucher purchases if you change your mind. Sprout gift vouchers can be used toward any Sprout cooking classes held at our kitchen. Sorry, Sprout gift vouchers cannot be used toward Sprout Health Studio consultations.

Redeeming vouchers

Gift vouchers must be redeemed by quoting the voucher number in the "voucher/code" box when booking your Sprout class. Once you have entered your code, the value will be deducted from the total purchase price. If this does not occur, please read the FAQ below for some tips and tricks! Please present your original gift voucher upon arrival at the class. Sorry, we do not offer refunds on gift voucher purchases.

If you are having trouble redeeming your voucher, please see the FAQ below.

I am trying to redeem a gift voucher or credit voucher but it doesn't seem to be working?

Here are a few tricks that might help. First, you may be entering the letter 'O' rather than the number zero '0'. Try entering the number instead of the letter (same goes for 9 and g, or 5 and s, and so on). Second, our website can only redeem one voucher at a time, so if you are using multiple vouchers, you will need to book each person separately. Third, make sure there are no spaces in the code you are entering (including before and after the code). If none of these work, email [email protected] with your voucher number and expiry date, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

My voucher expires soon. What are my options?

  • Our gift vouchers are valid for 36 months from date of purchase.
  • Our credit vouchers are valid for 3 months from date of issue.

We are more than happy for you to attend a class scheduled after the expiry date of your voucher, but you must redeem your voucher by booking a class online before it expires. If this is the case for you, please make sure to read our terms and conditions for cancellations using expired vouchers. We are unable to extend your voucher past the expiry date. If you can't make it to a class within 36 months you can always send someone else in your place.

My Sprout class is this week but I can't make it. What are my options?

Without excluding any of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we do not offer refunds for last minute cancellations. If you are unable to make it to your class due to illness, injury or any other ‘change of mind’ reason, our terms and conditions require 14 days notice in order to issue you with a credit voucher. A considerable amount of time, effort and of course cost goes into into preparing for and setting up each class, and unfortunately we are unable to provide credit vouchers or transfer you to another class at short notice. This includes classes that you have booked using a gift voucher. If you can't make it at the last minute, you are welcome to send someone in your place – please just let us know their name, dietary requirements if they have any and their contact number so that we know to expect them. For more information please refer to our terms and conditions relating to cancellations, which are set out below in more detail.

Are Sprout classes for adults or children?

Adult classes

All of the classes that appear on our general Classes page are for adults aged 17+ unless otherwise specified. Sorry, we do not allow kids to attend our adult classes even if accompanied by an adult.

Photo identification may be requested at the start of the night to ensure participants are over 17. Anyone aged 17 will not be permitted to consume alcohol. Sprout reserves the right to refuse alcohol service to any participant who fails to produce photo identification upon request or is behaving in a manner that puts themselves or others at risk.

Kids Classes

We run kids classes during some school holidays, which are published on the Kids Classes page of our website. If kids class times do not appear on our website, then we do not have any classes currently scheduled. Please join our mailing list to be notified when  kids class dates are released. We are unable to provide any further information before dates are released.

We also run school curriculum cooking programs during the school term for students of all ages.  To enquire about our school programs please email [email protected] or call 08 8443 4343.

We do, from time to time, run school holiday kids classes at shopping centres around South Australia.  These classes are organised by the shopping centre hosting the classes.  If you have a questions about these classes please contact the shopping centre directly.

Do you offer kids birthday parties?

Sorry we don't host kids birthday parties. We do offer hands on cooking classes for kids aged 5-16 at Sprout some school holidays.  Our Sprout gift vouchers make a great gift for kids and can be used towards a cooking class ticket. To be notified when future kids classes are released, please join our mailing list.

We do offer a catering service which caters a range of events including birthday parties.  For more information please see the catering page on our website.

What is included in my cooking class ticket? What should I bring/wear? Can I take photos?

What's included?

Sprout classes are about doing, not watching! Here's what each of our public, adult classes include:

  • A hands-on, totally interactive cooking experience in our stunning kitchen - it's one of the biggest privately owned kitchens of its kind in Australia;
  • Ingredients, equipment and aprons are included;
  • You will prepare 2-3 meals from recipes created exclusively by Sprout which have been specifically tailored for your class and dietary requirements;
  • Nutrition and health related tips from our health professionals, experienced cooks or qualified chefs to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and manage any special dietary requirements you may have;
  • Sit down in our beautiful dining room with the rest of the class and enjoy each course with a glass of South Australian wine; and
  • A Sprout gift bag to take home, which includes Sprout goodies, recipes and more!

What should I bring/wear?

When you book tickets to a Sprout cooking class, you will receive an information sheet outlining what to wear, what to bring, and other useful details. Most importantly however, Sprout’s health and safety obligations require that all participants wear closed, flat shoes and appropriate clothing, with long hair tied back neatly. Sprout will provide aprons for use during classes. Sprout reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone who wears high-heeled shoes, or fails to wear closed shoes or appropriate clothing. Should Sprout exercise this right, excluded participants will not be entitled to a refund, transfer or voucher.

Can I take photos?

From time to time we take photographs at Sprout classes which we may use to promote our classes on social media, on our website or in our newsletter. Similarly, if you post photos of your time at our classes on social media, we may share, re-post or use those photos ourselves. You are welcome to bring a camera or use your smartphone to take photos at your Sprout class, however video is not permitted and Sprout requests that you use discretion and consider other participants' privacy when taking photographs. Sprout reserves the right to revoke this permission at any time during a class, without notice and at its sole and absolute discretion. For privacy and safety reasons photography is not permitted at Sprout kids classes unless you have obtained our prior written consent.

Can Sprout donate to my charity or fundraising event?

Sprout proudly supports a number of charities including the Cancer Council, Thank You Co. and the Jodie Lee Foundation. We are unfortunately unable to respond to every donation request that we receive. However if you think Sprout fits the theme or purpose of your event, feel free to forward your request, including a copy of your Authority to Fundraise, to [email protected] and if we can help we will let you know. More information is available on our Media page.

Will Callum and Themis be at my cooking class/event?

Callum and Themis are serious about teaching you how to cook and how food plays a vital role in your everyday health, and as Sprout grows they are focusing on the management of Sprout and training our exceptional team, so they might not be at each class or event. However, the Sprout team is made up of many qualified and knowledgeable food and health nuts - and you never know which health professional, experienced cook or qualified chef might be hosting your class or event! Sorry, we can't guarantee that Themis or Callum will be at your class or event, and no refunds are issued due to Callum or Themis not attending classes or events.

If I book the same class twice in a season, will the recipes be the same?

If you choose two dates of a class theme within a season, the recipes will be the same. For example: an Autumn edition Homemade Takeaway class will be different to a Winter edition Homemade Takeaway.
