Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Program - Type 2 Diabetes

At Sprout, we believe that sustainable health outcomes for all Australians requires increased knowledge, behaviour change, a shift in attitudes, practical and realistic advice and motivation.  This is why we have created Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Programs.  

Our programs educate and motivate participants in a non-intimidating environment.  We draw on the positive effects of a supportive group environment where participants can share their experiences and advice, the nutrition counselling skills of our Accredited Practising Dietitians in private consults, and cooking classes to put everything you learn into action.

This new and innovative initiative has been created through recognition that nutrition education needs to evolve to meet the growing needs of people living in Australia.


The programs consist of:

  • four group education sessions,
  • one hands-on cooking class, and
  • four individual consultations with a Sprout Dietitian

Next program start date:        10 September, 2019

Program Outline: 

  • Group Education session 1:   10 September, 2019
  • Group Education session 2:   17 September, 2019
  • Hands on cooking class:        8 October, 2019
  • Group Education session 3:   22 October, 2019
  • Group Education session 4:   5 November, 2019 

All sessions are facilitated by an Accredited Practising Dietitian and are comprised of no more than 12
people per group.   

Rebates:

  • Medicare rebates:
    Medicare rebates are available under the following item numbers
    Item 81120 - Allied Health Group Services Plan (group sessions) 
    Item 10954 - Chronic Disease Management Plan (individual consults)
  • Private health fund rebates:
    Private health fund rebates may be available depending on your level of insurance.

Cost:

The total cost of the Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Program is:

$565.00 (before rebate)

$238.50 (after Medicare rebates)
