Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Programs

At Sprout, we believe that sustainable health outcomes for all Australians requires increased knowledge, behaviour change, a shift in attitudes, practical and realistic advice and motivation.  This is why we have created Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Programs.  

Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Programs educate and motivate participants in a non-intimidating environment.  We draw on the positive effects of a supportive group environment where participants can share their experiences and advice, the nutrition counselling skills of our Accredited Practising Dietitians in private consults, and cooking classes to put everything you learn into action. This innovative initiative has been created through recognition that nutrition education needs to evolve to meet the growing needs of people living in Australia.







Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Programs consist of:

  • 4 x Group education sessions,
  • 1 x Hands-on cooking class, and
  • 4 x Individual consultations with a Sprout dietitian

    All sessions are facilitated by an Accredited Practising Dietitian and are comprised of no more than 12 people per group.

Cost:

The total cost of Sprout Nutrition and Cooking Programs is $565 before Medicare or private health insurance rebates.

Rebates:

  • Medicare rebates: Medicare rebates are available for programs targeting chronic health conditions such as Type 2 diabetes and weight loss. Doctor referrals must include the following Medicare item numbers for rebates to be claimed:
  • Item 81125 - Allied Health Group Services Plan (initial assessment) (Diabetes program only)
    Item 81120 - Allied Health Group Services Plan (group sessions) (Diabetes program only)
    Item 10954 - Chronic Disease Management Plan (individual consults)
  • Private health fund rebates: Private health fund rebates may be available for nutrition services depending on your level of insurance.
